What is the Microsoft Power BI course?
It is a 2-month program at Skill Training Institute, Alpha 1, Greater Noida with 21 modules in 4 phases. It covers Power Query, data modelling, DAX, interactive dashboards, publishing in Power BI Service and two projects.
Do I need to know Excel or coding?
Basic computer skills and some familiarity with Excel help, but no coding is needed. Data preparation and DAX are taught from the basics.
How deep is DAX?
Phase 2 has 6 modules on modelling and DAX: measures, CALCULATE, filter context, time intelligence, variables, iterators and ranking.
Do I need a Windows laptop?
Power BI Desktop runs on Windows, so a Windows laptop is recommended. Ask us on WhatsApp if you use a Mac.
Is Power BI Service and sharing covered?
Yes. You publish reports, use workspaces, and learn refresh, gateways and row-level security basics. Some Service features, such as sharing with other people, need a paid Microsoft licence, and we show what is available on each licence type.
How is this different from the Advanced Excel & Power BI course?
This 2-month course focuses only on Power BI and goes deeper on DAX and dashboards. The 3-month Advanced Excel & Power BI course also covers advanced Excel, Power Query in Excel and VBA.
What projects will I build?
A sales performance dashboard and an HR and operations dashboard, both built from raw data to a published report.
What kind of jobs does this prepare me for?
Entry-level roles such as junior Power BI developer, data analyst, business analyst, reporting analyst and BI analyst trainee. Outcomes vary by learner, and we do not guarantee a job. The last module covers interview preparation.
