Do I need to know Excel already?
Basic computer skills are enough. Module 1 recaps Excel essentials, and the course then builds up to advanced formulas, so both beginners and regular Excel users can follow.
Which version of Excel do I need?
A recent desktop version of Excel is needed. Dynamic array functions such as FILTER, SORT and UNIQUE need Excel 2021 or Microsoft 365. Ask us about your setup on WhatsApp before you start.
Do I need a Windows laptop?
Windows is recommended, because Power BI Desktop and full Excel VBA support are best on Windows. Ask us on WhatsApp if you use a Mac.
Is VBA included?
Yes. Phase 3 has 3 modules on the macro recorder, VBA fundamentals and automation projects such as automated report generation.
How deep is the Power BI part?
Phase 4 has 7 modules on Power Query, data modelling, DAX, time intelligence, report design, drill-through, bookmarks and row-level security basics. Phase 5 adds publishing to Power BI Service.
Are SQL and Python part of this course?
No. This course focuses on Excel and Power BI. SQL, Python and statistics are covered in our Data Analytics course, which is 6 months long.
What projects will I build?
